Question 2

Who do you sometimes compare yourself to?

I compare myself to EVERYONE.

I can't choose a single person because I'm almost constantly analyzing and assessing those around me, myself included.

Once again, I figure this question is asking for something more so let's go a little deeper.

I've thought about why I compare myself to others so much. It boils down to something very simple: I'm a people-pleaser and I don't know how else to act.
I grew up watching other people. I grew up trying to please everyone and everything, to be the most liked, the most adored, the most admired, the most loved.

Basically, I had no personal identity of my own. It was built and shaped by my environment and the the people around me.

Only recently have I begun to mold and shape myself according to the way God sees me. Identity lies on Christ and what He's already accomplished, therefore identity in Christ is unshakeable and unchangeable. There is no fear in the love of the Father for perfect love casts out all fear.

Amen.
